TAKE CHARGE OF YOURSELF Food selection, preparation,
and eating don’t need to be complicated. Good nutrition is a one day at a time deal. On a daily basis eat a
variety of foods and fluids that are nutritious, taste good, and are beneficial to your health. Strive to:
- drink plenty of fluids, mostly water.
- eat more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts and seeds, cooked and dried beans and peas.
- increase intake of seafood and fat-free and low-fat milk products.
- steer clear of foods with refined grains and added fats and sugars.
- eat
fewer foods containing sodium and salt.
- be moderate in the consumption
of alcohol or omit it completely.
The payoff is looking and feeling your best, both inside and out. Regardless of whom this country of immigrants
votes into office as its president, you are the president of your body and mind.
